Bran Muffins
BRAN MUFFINS
- ¼ cup shortening
- ½ cup firmly packed brown sugar
- ¼ cup molasses 2 eggs
- ¾ cup milk 1
- ¼ cups flour 1
- ½ tsp. baking powder
- ½ tsp. baking soda
- ¾ tsp. salt 1
- ½ cup bran
- ½ cup raisins
Cream shortening and sugar together with a mixer. Add molasses and eggs and beat well. Add milk, then bran, mix until smooth.
In a separate bowl combine flour, baking powder, soda and salt together. Add to liquid ingredients. Add raisins if desired. Place in greased muffin tins and bake at 400 for 20 minutes. Makes about 10 muffins.
